debby schuh is coming to play . . .

. . . and to guest teach at Scrapbooks Plus!

Although it's that time in February when all scrapbook industry eyes are on CHA (the trade show in Anaheim, CA, introducing all the new scrapbook lines), we've got a few drum rolls to announce ourselves!

Got your calendars ready?

Debby Schuh will be teaching THREE exciting classes at Scrapbooks Plus on Saturday, April 26! Debby is well-known for her Anna Griffin project designs and for the classes she has taught around the country. She's working in the Anna Griffin booth at CHA this coming week, and this year she'll be teaching an all-day album track, sponsored by Anna Griffin, at all three CKU events. She's soon off to a teaching stint in Florence, Italy, too! But after she returns, Debby will be coming to us for a full day of her colorful mini albums, using her clever signature approach to manipulating pockets and embellishments. And these NEW albums will employ all sorts of products, including an Anthropologie shopping bag!  Here are some sample photos from the three classes she'll be teaching!  Be sure to reserve the date!

#1 - A Lucky Life (Saturday, 10am-noon)
Believe it or not…you lead a Lucky life! Did you know Lucky means blessed, happy, good, and full of promise? Sometimes just taking a fresh look at life helps you realize how lucky you are! In this class we’ll make a beautiful mini album to record the good things in your life and tell the story behind your blessings. Using Jenni Bowlin bingo cards and rub-ons, Scenic Route and Creative Imaginations papers, and embellishments from Heidi Swapp (Advantus), My Mind’s Eye, American Crafts, 7gypsies, Hambly, and American Tag, we’ll make this unique clear cover twenty-two page album full of pockets and enclosures for lots of photos and journaling.

You should bring the following tools to class: 12” paper trimmer, scissors, ¼” hole punch or Crop A Dile, lots of tape runner adhesive (you will be adhering paper to the back of the bingo cards), pencil, ruler, stapler, glue dots, and burnishing tool for rub-ons (popsicle stick).

#3 - The Anthropologie Album: Endless Possibilities (Saturday, 1pm-3:30pm)
Fun times with family or friends, a special trip, or just a collection of favorite memories will find their home in this truly unique album that we’ll make using an Anthropologie shopping bag! You can customize the theme and title of your album. This interactive scrapbook is full of cool pockets, envelopes, fold outs and more to include lots of photos and trinkets from any occasion.

Your kit will include a shopping bag from the inspiring store Anthropologie and products from 7gypsies, Heidi Swapp, American Crafts, Bazzill Basics, the office supply store, and more!

You should bring the following tools to class: 12” paper trimmer, scissors, Crop A Dile or ¼” hole punch, adhesive, pencil, stapler, disposable foam brush, black journaling marker, sand paper, and photos and memorabilia if you’d like to get a start on your album. It would be great if you brought a matchbook or matchbox and a postcard you’d like to include in your album.

#2 - A Round and About Travel Book (Saturday, 4pm-6pm)
Are you looking for a great new album idea to showcase your photos and memorabilia from a favorite trip? I’ve taken the unique album I did for my trip to Germany and turned it into a class for you! In this class we’ll make an album with a combination of round and rectangular pages using an 8 ½”x 11” American Crafts Modern 3-ring album, a Heidi Swapp clock overlay used in a new way, and papers and stickers by 7gypsies, and more. The class kit is packed with product and includes all supplies except your tools. (The picture on the right is a picture of my Germany scrapbook. Your book will be unique with your photos and memorabilia.)

You should bring the following tools to class: 12” paper trimmer, scissors to cut chipboard, scissors to cut fabric, Crop A Dile or ¼” hole punch, adhesive, pencil, stapler, sandpaper or a sanding block, large eye needle, and if you want…an ink pad to age your project with. You can bring some 4x6” photos to begin your album, if you’d like!

WAIT!!   Don't put your calendars away yet!   There's MORE!!

Another of my so-talented friends is coming to visit again!   Carol Wingert will be back to wow us with THREE of her arty mixed-media classes the weekend of June 7-8, including her wonderful take on "Spinning Your Story" using the 7 Gypsies spinner.

And in early October, my new friend Jennifer Wagner will be teaching THREE of her altered art-style classes at Scrapbooks Plus.   Details will follow soon.   Mark your calendars and stay tuned!    And call the store to sign up!
