This morning as I was juggling my calendar to clear a day this week for playing in my messy "studio" with my sweet and inspiring friend Amy as we prepare for Silver Bella, I noticed another very important date coming up in November. Back in April when Debby Schuh was visiting with me, we trekked over to Queen's Ink in MD to have lunch with owner Patti Euler and set some class dates. Now it's only a month away till Debby teaches a full day of her wonderful classes there.
On Saturday, November 8th, starting at 10 am, Debby will be teaching three gorgeous classes at Queen's Ink (301 497-9449) that you won't want to miss. The morning class is a beautiful 8"x 8" album titled Wonderful Things, full of products from Heather Bailey, Scenic Route, American Crafts, Basic Grey, Heidi Swapp, Anna Griffin and more. I saw this delicious album when Debby taught it at Melrose Vintage in Phoenix, where Heather Bailey joined the class and loved how Debby had used her papers. Of course, there are lots of Debby's trademark pockets and folds and enclosures. The album's theme allows you to pay homage to all the wonderful things and people in your life, a practice that can really enhance your perspective.
After lunch, Debby's second class will be a clever twist on the 7Gypsies ATC card holder. During her visit here in April, as we were leaving friend Kitty's house and signing her guest book, the idea for remodeling this spinner into a guest log popped into Debby's head. Using Amy Butler ephemera and products from 7Gypsies, K&Co, October Afternoon, Making Memories, Jenni Bowlin, Beaux Regards, Hambly, Scenic Route and Nunn Designs, the Be My Guest ATC Holder will have 30+ cards decorated with tiny layouts plus 70+ blank cards for your guests. By the way, Debby is now a consulting designer for 7Gypsies, who will be sponsoring her classes on her Mediterranean Cruise next fall with ScrapMaps.
Debby's evening class, the Christmas Joy Album, will be a tribute to the holiday season, an interactive keepsake album with pockets, secret fold-outs, flip-ups and more, and room for lots of holiday photos. Products include Hambly, Jenni Bowlin, October Afternoon, Anna Griffin, American Crafts, May Arts, Beaux Regards, Zutter and more. Techniques will include using the Bind-It-All and the Fiskars Threading Water Punch.
Luckily for me, when Debby visits it's always another play date, and we're looking forward to some serious shopping therapy in MD before her day in the classroom. Then the following weekend Debby, Amy and I will eagerly join lots of creative ladies, including my roommate and co-vendor Carol Wingert, in Omaha at Silver Bella for a glittery holiday crafty time. Teresa may still have room for you, if you'd like to join us.
